about

The self-produced project is a short stint of 15 minutes listening time however, this did not stand as an obstacle in the rapper’s stride.

The north London native has attempted (somewhat successfully), a means of conveying his story past, present & future; summarising his humble beginnings to emphasizing the importance of a legacy.

The EP opens up with “96 Bars of Sentiment” which sees 24-year-old Kayes give us the walkthrough of his current affairs, expressing his candid views on past experiences and social matters, among other things.

This follows up with 'The Lanes' which was the first single released from the project, "Memorabilia" which saw Kayes explore his past and local surroundings in surreal detail.

“Homecoming” & “Price Is Right”, arguably the two stand-out songs of the project for their unforgivingly Grimey flows and cutting edge lyrics, see Kayes expressing his undying love for Grime as well as expressing his strong views on trading your time for the right price, respectively.

Last but not least, the single “Memorabilia” of which the EP is named after, drives home the overarching theme of the project, discussing the importance of leaving a legacy beyond one’s existence.

The five songs compiled together, make for a calming, insightful yet quintessentially boastful Grime project that provides a lot more than one might expect.
